Kathleen J. "Kay" Larson (nee King) of Yardley, PA passed away on October 14, 2016, she was 91. Born in Atlantic City, NJ to Joseph and Catherine King. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Leroy, who she had met at an Army Auxiliary Dance , during his stateside leave from Europe during WWII. They married in 1945.
Kay graduated from Bartram High School with honors and her passion for knowledge and initiative to learn on to fact each day was her passion. She was fascinated by history and she loved to travel. Kathleen was an animal lover, having cats and dogs throughout her life but most of all was her sincere love for her family.
Kay worked for the New Jersey State Police Headquarters in West Trenton, NJ as a Supervisor in the Identification and records unit. She was highly regarded and admired by both her subordinates and her supervisors. Kay loved her career so much, she stayed there for 47 years, retiring at age 74. She was proud of having one of the longest tenures in the departments history.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter Eileen J. Werst, two grandchildren, Jeffrey R. Land and Erika K. Land, three great grandchildren, Aleas Martinez, Ameer Martinez and John Jeffrey Land. She is also survived by two sisters in law M. Jane (Thomas) King and Joan (Joseph) King and several nieces and nephews.
Kathleen's family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, October 19 from 7 to 9 PM and on Thursday October 20 from 10 to 11 AM at the Swartz/Givnish Funeral Home, 323 Washington Ave, Newtown, PA. Her funeral service will be at 11 AM and interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery.
